Current Groups

Interpersonal therapy groups are an important way to expand your growth in therapy. Groups do not replace individual therapy - they complement the work you are doing in individual therapy. In group therapy, you will learn how you show up in relationships, how others experience you, and how to practice new skills to connect in different ways and build meaningful, important connections.

Before joining the group, you will meet with me individually to discuss your previous experiences in groups, the challenges or areas of growth you have in relationships, and explore in what areas you would need my help during the group.

Contact me if you have questions about the group or to express an interest in joining. The group is not currently meeting so the start date will be announced when there are enough members.

In immigration law, especially in this political climate, you are exposed to many difficult emotions. You might be feeling anger/frustration at the continually changing laws that impact your clients, sadness at seeing lives disrupted, a sense of hopelessness that you aren't able to do more, and could even be experiencing secondary trauma (symptoms of trauma because you are an emotional witness to people retelling their traumatic histories).

This group is for lawyers practicing immigration law who are feeling stress, overwhelm, burnout, fatigue, and other emotional responses to the work. We meet once per month to provide support, an opportunity to talk about the challenges of the work, to share victories, problem-solve work challenges, and learn tools to allow you to continue in the work.

If you are interested in attending, please contact me for a free introductory one-on-one meeting. In this meeting, we will talk about what you want to get from the group meetings and see if this group is the right place for you.

If you're a therapist who wants a space for professional development, desires a deep connection with other therapists, hopes to expand your referral network, and wants to discover more about how process groups work, this group is for you!

I've been in a training group for over five years. That experience has helped grow my professional skills, group therapy skills, and my identity as a therapist. Additionally, I am a Certified Group Psychotherapist. All that to say, I have lots of experience being in and leading groups. I will bring that knowledge to my leadership role in this training group.

If you want to learn more about the group or know you are interested in joining, contact me. We will meet individually two to three times to get to know each other, identify your goals for being in this group, and determine together whether this is the right fit.

I am hoping to run this group in person; however, I am open to virtual if that is the desire of the group members. If we meet virtually, we will schedule one or more intensive in-person trainings during the year. This allows an opportunity to get deeper into the work and our relationships with each other. If you are not local to Los Angeles you would be welcome to join the group with the condition that you travel here for the in-person experiences.
