Individual Therapy
In individual therapy we will discuss what is bothering you most right now to find solutions and relief. Therapy will then move on to exploring patterns of behaviors and talking some about your parents and family (sorry, but they really do impact some of the things that happen to us as adults!). By better understanding how all these elements impact you, we can discuss changes you can make to have more in your life.

Couples Therapy
Couples may need therapy for a variety of reasons: build communication, improve emotional and/or sexual intimacy, regain trust, deal with life changes (moving, new baby, changes in health, blending families, etc), navigate differences in values, work through differences in backgrounds of family of origin, decide whether to stay together or end the relationship, and more. I work with you to say hard things to each other, learn how to respectfully work through disagreements, share vulnerabilities, have fun, play and be silly together, and find new ways to feel connected with each other.

Group Therapy
I've been participating in and leading group therapy since 2019. I am a strong believer in the power of group and I will mention the idea of joining a group to almost every client I see. Group allows us to practice being vulnerable with others, receive feedback on how our behaviors impact others, see ourselves as others see us, and practice new relationship skills. Group works best when someone is also in individual therapy, but many people come less often to individual sessions once they are in group.

Supervision
Many seasoned therapists look back at one or two instrumental supervisors and/or mentors who helped guide their careers and influenced their identity as a therapist. I strive to have that impact on associates who work alongside me. If you are an AMFT, ASW, or APCC in California looking to join a private practice, email your resume to info@cdixoncounseling.com.
